Common questions
I didn't get my sign-in code
Codes arrive within a minute or two. If yours hasn't shown up, check your spam or promotions folder for a message from Storyplease. Codes expire after a short window, so if it's been a while, request a fresh one from the sign-in screen. Still stuck? Email us and we'll sort it out.
My story failed, or some pages are missing artwork
Story generation occasionally hits a hiccup with our AI providers. Open the story and use the retry option, or regenerate the individual page image. Failed stories don't count against your daily limit. If a story fails repeatedly, send us the title and we'll look at it directly.
How do I change or cancel my subscription?
If you subscribed in the iPhone app, your subscription is managed by Apple. Open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. You can also reach this from the Upgrade screen in the app. We can't cancel or refund an Apple subscription on your behalf — Apple handles both. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you subscribed on the website, manage or cancel it from Settings in your account. Cancelling stops future billing and you keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
I paid but the app still shows me as free
On iPhone, open the Upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchases — that re-checks your subscription with Apple and applies it to your account. If it still doesn't apply, email us with the Apple Account email you purchased under.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete my account in the app. This permanently removes your account, every story, every person, every photo you uploaded, and every generated illustration. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription — cancel that separately using the steps above.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings → Export my data to download a JSON file with your account, settings, people, stories, and activity history.
Can my kids use Storyplease themselves?
Storyplease accounts are for adults — parents, guardians, grandparents, and teachers. The people you add, including children, are story characters rather than separate accounts. Children never sign in.
A story came out wrong, or included something I didn't expect
Please tell us. Every prompt and photo passes automated moderation before anything is generated, but AI-generated writing isn't perfect. Email us the story title and what went wrong — reports like this are how we improve the safety of the system.
Still need help?
Email hello@mystoryplease.com. Include your account email and, if it's about a story, its title.
